Leaders At Johnson County School Say They Had Suspicions But That Scammers Had All The Right Information To Steal A Large Amount Of Money. A Group Of Scammers Claiming To Be From Pearson, A Textbook Company That The County Does Business With, Asked For 3 Million Dollars In Payments To Be Made. The Scammers Then Redirected Them Into Another Account. Johnson County Schools Has Managed To Recover Most Of The Money, But Says The Only Difference In The Scammers And The Real Pearson Was The Ending Of The URL Address, Which Can Be Hard To Notice If You Aren’t Paying Close Attention.
