Bristol, Virginia City Council Has Given Initial Approval To Sell The Former Stonewall Jackson And Washington-Lee Elementary Schools To Developers Clyde Stacy And James Bunn, Who Plan To Transform The Properties Into A Hotel And Housing, Respectively. The Developers Proposed Converting Stonewall Jackson, Located Near The New Bristol Casino, Into A Hotel Similar To The Bristol Hotel, While Washington-Lee Would Be Developed Into Much-Needed Multi-Family Housing. The Sales Are Part Of The City’s Efforts To Repurpose Vacant Properties Following The Opening Of A New Intermediate School. The Developers Have Offered $150,000 For Each Property, With The Projects Expected To Be Completed Within Three To Four Years.
