Carter County Trustee Chad Lewis Has Negotiated A Reduction In Processing Fees For Citizens Paying Property Taxes With Credit Cards, Debit Cards, Or E-Checks. The New Fees, Effective Tuesday, Will Drop From 2.75% To 2.5% For Card Payments, And From $1.50 To $1 For E-Checks. The Change Comes As The County Switches To A New Processing Company, Local Government Corporation, Which Will Streamline Payments Across Multiple Counties, Except Washington And Johnson. Lewis Emphasized That The Lower Fees Will Provide Significant Savings For Taxpayers.
