The Unicoi County Sheriff’s Office Is Considering Selling Vaping Products To Inmates At The County Jail. Sheriff Mike Hensley And Chief Deputy Frank Rogers Discussed The Potential Program With County Commissioners, Stating It Could Generate Up To $100,000 In Revenue. The Goal Is To Offset The Jail’s Costs, Such As The $235,000 Budgeted For Inmate Food, Rather Than To Make Extra Money. Rogers Added That Vaping Devices Could Also Help Manage Inmate Behavior And Reduce Fire Hazards, As Traditional Cigarettes Are Not Allowed In The Jail.
