THE ETSU CHARITABLE PHARMACY, LOCATED WITHIN THE JOHNSON CITY COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER, RECENTLY CELEBRATED 10 YEARS OF PROVIDING LOW-COST MEDICATIONS TO UNINSURED PATIENTS IN WASHINGTON COUNTY. OPERATED BY THE ETSU COLLEGE OF NURSING, THE PHARMACY PLAYS A CRUCIAL ROLE IN SUPPORTING PATIENTS WHO OTHERWISE COULDN’T AFFORD THEIR MEDICATIONS, INCLUDING THOSE WITH CONDITIONS LIKE DIABETES AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH ISSUES. DIRECTOR DR. ANDREA ERB EMPHASIZED THE IMPORTANCE OF ENSURING THESE PATIENTS RECEIVE NECESSARY PRESCRIPTIONS. THE PHARMACY IS PART OF THE CLINIC’S BROADER COMMITMENT TO SERVING THE COMMUNITY, WHICH ALSO INCLUDES A COMMUNITY GARDEN AND FRESH PRODUCE FOR PATIENTS.
