Abingdon, Va. – The William King Museum Of Art Has Begun Work On An $18 Million Expansion, Set To Bring National Attention To The Museum. The New Wing Will House The Prestigious Worrell Collection Of Animal Art, Featuring 170 Paintings And Sculptures. The Project Will Also Include A Virginia Gallery, Museum Store, CafĂ©, And Additional Amenities, With Completion Expected By Late 2025. Museum Director Betsy White Called The Project The Museum’s “Most Transformative Gift.” The State Contributed $750,000 To The Expansion, Which Aims To Boost Tourism And Environmental Education In Southwest Virginia.
