Carter County’s Budget Committee Has Unanimously Approved A Project To Extend Public Water To 10 Homes In The Laurel Community.Residents, Currently Reliant On Private Wells With Issues Like Bacteria Contamination, Will Benefit From A New Waterline Funded By A $624,624 State And Tribal Assistance Grant Secured By Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger. The Total Project Cost Is $780,780, With Carter County Contributing $156,156 In Matching Funds. The Full Commission Will Now Consider The Project. Additionally, Plans Are Underway For A Similar Water Project In The Garland Branch Area.
