Jonesborough Leaders Have Approved A Letter Of Agreement To Extend The Johnson City Tweetsie Trail To The Oldest Town In Tennessee. Governor Bill Lee’s Budget For This Year Includes 2.4 Million Dollars For The Project, Which Is Being Referred To As The First Frontier Trail. The Tweetsie Trail Currently Spans Roughly 10 Miles From Johnson City To Elizabethton With An Expansion In The Works To Hampton.
