A Beloved Hawkins County School Bus Driver That Lost Her Life In A Crash Will Have Her Bus Number Retired In Her Honor. Aleita Gladson Was Employed By The Hawkins County Board Of Education For Over 30 Years. Gladson Was Killed In February 2024 After Her Bus Was Hit Head On By A Truck Driving In The Wrong Lane. Gladson Is Credited For Making Sure Her Two Passengers Were In The Safest Spot On The Bus Before Being Killed By The Impact. Those Students Received Minor Injuries. A Plaque Will Be Put In The Hawkins County Board Room That Recognizes Her Effors And Bus Number 11 Will Be Retired.
