The Tennessee Climate Office At East Tennessee State University Is One Of Nine Sites In The Nation Chosen For A Pilot Funding Proposal. A Grant Of 115-Thousand Dollars Is Being Provided With A Goal Of Establishing A Study In Partnership With The National Oceanic And Atmosphere Administration To Help Communities Better Understand And Utilize Climate Data To Address Long-Term Extreme Weather. It Will Focus On Sinking And Dry Creeks And Determine Why They Have Flooded So Much Through The Years. The Process Is Expected To Begin At The First Of Next Year.
