The Hawkins County Commission Has Postponed A Decision On A 2024-25 Fiscal Year Spending Plan That Calls For An Increase In Property Taxes. Members Of The United Citizens Of Hawkins County Community Organization Are Opposed To A Nearly 35 Cent Increase That Would Bring Rates To $2.67 Per $100 Of Assessed Value. Several County Leaders Said The Concerns Of The People Led Them To Reconsider The Budget And Work On Lowering Property Taxes. Its Back To The Drawing Board.
