Hawkins County Sheriff Ronnie Lawson Has Told Residents, They Could Find Themselves With Limited Police Protection If His Department Doesn’t Receive Full Funding In The County Budget. Lawson Said He Needs To Retain Officers And The Only Way To Do It Is Provide A Pay Increase. Deputies And Jailers Are Both Paid $17.21 An Hour With The New Budget Calling For A $4 Increase. It Will Be Up To The County Commission To Approve The Sheriff’s Budget.
