A Man Accused Of Driving Around Washington County Virginia With A Dead Woman In The Back Seat Of His Vehicle, Is Being Held In The Southwest Virginia Regional Jail In Abingdon. 57 Year Old Sanders Chad Barrett Of Saltville Is Charged With Transporting A Deceased Body And Violation Of Probation That Stems From Another Death In Smyth County. Deputies Arrested The Man Off Exit 7 Of Interstate 81 Yesterday. Investigators Believe Barrett Drove Around With The Body For Over 8 Hours. The Identity Of The Female Is Being Withheld At This Time Pending Notification Of Family. The Body Has Been Taken To The Medical Examiner’s Office In Roanoke For An Autopsy. No Further Details Will Be Released At This Time As The Investigation Is Ongoing.
