Bristol Virginia Leaders Are Considering Lowering Trash Collection Fees While Raising Lodging And Restaurant Meal Taxes. The Trash Fee Currently Sits At $48 A Month. The New Proposal Calls For The Fee To Be Set At $38 Per Month. The Proposed Lodging Tax Rate Would Go From 13 To 15-Percent While The Meal Tax Rate Would Increase From 10 To 11-Percent. Council Members Feel Lowering The Garbage Fee Will Help Offset The Increase Of The Meal Tax. City Leaders Will Consider The Changes Soon.
