According To Recent Data From The U.S. Census Bureau, The Population In Southwest Virginia Is Falling, But At A Slower Rate Compared To The Past Decade. In The Nine-County, Two-City Region, The Number Of People Decreased To Just Over 279-Thousand As Of July 2023. That’s A Change Of 13-Hundred People From The Previous Year’s Estimate. This Is The Slowest Decline In Years. Since 2020, The Number Of People In The Region Has Fallen By Over 59-Hundred.
