TWO LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES IN SULLIVAN COUNTY ARE ALLOWING BEARDS TO BE GROWN FOR CHARITY. THE KINGSPORT POLICE DEPARTMENT IS HOSTING “NO SHAVE FALLVEMBER”. LAST YEAR, THE EFFORT RAISED JUST OVER 19-THOUSAND DOLLARS IN CHARITY. SO FAR THIS YEAR, THEY HAVE ALREADY RAISED 8-THOUSAND DOLLARS. IT RUNS NOW THROUGH MARCH 14TH. MEANWHILE, THE SULLIVAN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE IS RUNNING A SIMILAR CAMPAIGN WHICH, WHICH ALLOWED OVER 5-THOUSAND TOYS TO BE PURCHASED LAST YEAR. THEIR NO-SHAVE EVENT RUNS THROUGH THE END OF DECEMBER.
