The Washington County Tennessee Commission Will Decide Tonight On Whether To Accept Funds From An Opioid Settlement. This Comes After The State Reached An Agreement With The Parent Company Of Food City That Includes $44.5 Million The Grocery Store Chain Is Paying To Settle An Opioid Lawsuit. The State Attorney General Said $28 Million From The Settlement Will Go To Tennessee’s Opioid Abatement Fund To Support Efforts In The State’s 95 Counties Including, Washington, Carter, Unicoi, Johnson And Sullivan. A Lawsuit Was Filed Against KVAT Food Stores In Knox County Alleging Food City Pharmacies In Tennessee, Sold Tens Of Millions Of Prescription Opioids And Profited From It.
