Things Got A Little Heated Between Sullivan County Commissioners At A Work Session Over Pay Increases For County Deputies. Commissioner Gary Stidham Brought A Proposed Draft Resolution, Asking That All Uniformed Officers Receive More Money Due To The Department Being Understaffed And Having A Hard Time Recruiting Officers, But Some Commissioners Wonder Why This Wasn’t Addressed In The Recent Budget. Stidham Said Other Law Enforcement Agencies In Our Area Increased Pay For Their Departments After The Budget Was Passed And Now Sullivan County Is Behind The Eight Ball. The Draft Proposal Will Now Go To The Budget Committee At Its August 30th Meeting.
