Most Of The Retention Appeals For The Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program For Third-Grade Reading Proficiency Requirements In Two Local School Systems, Have Been Granted. From May To June Of This Year, Parents Of Over 9-Thousand Third-Grade Students From Across The State Presented Over 10-Thousand Appeals. Out Of Those, 20 Came From The Bristol, Tennessee School System While The Sullivan School County School Board Had 25 Appeals. Third Graders Who Did Not Score Above The Minimum Requirements Were At Risk Of Being Held Back A Year Unless They Attended Tutoring Or Summer School.
