A COMBINED INVESTIGATION BETWEEN THE ABINGDON VIRGINIA POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE WASHINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE HAS NETTED THE ARREST OF AN ABINGDON MAN ON DRUG-RELATED CHARGES. 29 YEAR OLD CHARLES ATLAS JORDAN IS CHARGED WITH THE DISTRIBUTION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE. JORDAN ALLEGEDLY ATTEMPTED TO SELL 400 DOLLARS WORTH OF COCAINE TO UNDERCOVER AGENTS. OFFICERS SEIZED APPROXIMATELY 8 AND A HALF POUNDS OF POWDER COCAINE WITH A STREET VALUE OF 850 DOLLARS AT THE HOME ON GRAY DRIVE. MEANWHILE, INFORMATION FROM THIS ARREST PROMPTED THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE TO SEARCH JORDAN’S HOME IN WASHINGTON COUNTYWHICH YIELDED AN ADDITIONAL TEN GRAMS OF COCAINE, 800 DOLLARS IN CASH, AND A FIREARM. ADDITIONAL CHARGES ARE PENDING. JORDAN IS LODGED IN THE SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA REGIONAL HAIL IN ABINGDON UNDER BOND OF 25-HUNDRED DOLLARS.
