The Mount Carmel Board Of Mayor And Aldermen Has Passed A 2023-24 Fiscal Year Spending Plan That Will Include A Property Tax Increase. Town Administrator Emily Wood Said The Budget Includes A 20-Cent Hike, Which Is Expected To Generate An Additional $189,000 In Revenue For Town Coffers. She Said The Increase Is Needed To Cover Rising Utility Costs And Other Expenses Tied To Inflation. Several Other Cities In Our Region Have Raised Property Taxes.
