Preliminary Information Is Being Provided By The National Transportation Safety Board Concerning A Flight That Took Off From The Elizabethton Municipal Airport Earlier This Month And Crashed In Central Virginia. The Cessna Citation 560 Was Operated By Encore Motors Of Florida. All Four People On Board Were Killed. The Plane Stopped At Elizabethton Airport To Refuel And Pick-Up Three Passengers. The Pilot Was In Contact With Air Traffic Controllers Out Of Atlanta During Ascent When They Lost Contact With Him A Short Time Later. The Plane Continued Its Flight Path To New York Before Turning Back Towards Virginia And Crashing Almost Straight Down. A Final Report Could Take Several Months.
