Kingsport Leaders Have Approved A 206-Million Dollar Budget For The 2023-24 Fiscal Year, Which Does Not Include Any Tax Increases, But Did Slightly Increase Water And Sewer Rates. 95-Million Will Be For The Operating Budget And 111 Million Dollars For The School System. There’S A Just Over 4-Percent Increase On Water Utility Charges At More Than 5-Percent Increase On Sewer Fees. The Additional Money Will Be Used To Correct A More Than 3-Million Dollar Shortfall. Funds Will Be Used To Pay For Renovations At The Kingsport Public Library, Installing Student Resource Officers In Every School, And Renovations For The Buck Van Huss Dome At Dobyns-Bennett High School.
