A Washington County Virginia Resident Has Been Charged In A Hit-And-Run Incident This Week That Left A Virginia Department Of Transportation Employee Seriously Injured. 26 Year Old Shawn Smith Of Abingdon Is Charged With Hit And Run, Reckless Driving And Driving On A Suspended License. A 58 Year Old VDOT Employee Was Working To Remove A Tree That Had Fallen Across Woodland Hills Road When He Was Struck By A Chevy Cobalt. The Vehicle Struck Both The Employee And Tree. The Employee’s Condition Is Unknown At This Time. The Crash Remains Under Investigation.
