THE MEADOWVIEW MARRIOTT IN KINGSPORT WILL BE ADDING 110 ROOMS TO THE HOTEL. ACCORDING TO ANDY KING. GENERAL MANAGER, THE HOTEL HAS ACHIEVED MORE THAN 70 PERCENT OCCUPANCY FOR THE LAST THREE YEARS. WHEN COMPLETED, ALL 305 GUEST ROOMS WILL OFFER THE LATEST INTERNET TECHNOLOGY AND 32-INCH FLAT PANEL TELEVISIONS THAT WILL ALLOW VISITORS TO PLUG IN THEIR LAPTOPS. THE 195-ROOM MEADOWVIEW MARRIOTT CONFERENCE RESORT AND CONVENTION CENTER OPENED IN 1996. THE HOTEL AND RESTAURANT IS OWNED BY EASTMAN CHEMICAL COMPANY. FOR THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS, MEADOWVIEW MARRIOTT CONFERENCE RESORT AND CONVENTION CENTER HAS GENERATED MORE THAN 20 MILLION DOLLARS EACH YEAR IN TOTAL ECONOMIC IMPACT TO THE AREA. OFFICIALS EXPECT CONSTRUCTION TO TAKE ABOUT 13 MONTHS.
