Virginia Senior U.S. District Court Judge James Jones Is Now Allowing Inmates At Red Onion State Prison In Pound To Join A Class Action Lawsuit. The Suit Was Initially Filed By 11 Inmates At The Super Max Lockup And Claims Cruel And Unusual Punishment In Solitary Confinement. This Is In Response To Inmates Being Locked Up In An Area The Size Of A Parking Space. Judge Jones Is Also Being Asked To Issue An Injunction To End The Solitary Confinement Program At The Prison. The Case Is Making Its Way To Federal Court In Big Stone Gap.
