The Sullivan County Jail Is In Need Of More Money In Order To Survive. Jail Chief Lee Carswell Says The Daily Average Number Of Inmates Is Around 900, Costing Taxpayers About 45 Dollars A Day Per Inmate. Carswell Said Medical Has Gone Up To Around $200,000 And Food Costs To Around $400,000. The County Commission Is Expected To Consider A Resolution From Sheriff Jeff Cassidy For An Additional 914-Thousand For His Department. A Meeting Will Be Held This Evening At 6 Pm. To Address This Issue.
