A Hotel And Mix-Use Development In Downtown Kingsport Could Be A Way To Generate Additional Revenue For The City. Economic Development Director, John Rose, Made A Presentation To The Board Of Mayor And Alderman Revealing Plans To Use The Lesser-Used New Street Parking Lot As A Potential Site For A Hotel, Mixed-Use Development Or Town Homes. Another Option Being Considered Is Working With The Owner Of The Dobyns-Taylor Warehouse To Redevelop It Into A Mixed-Use Development, Restaurant With A Rooftop Bar, Or A Shopping Area. If The City Decides To Move Forward On The Projects, The Economic Development Board Would Help With Marketing And Support.
