Erwin Town Leaders Are Discussing Possible Changes To The Town’s Alcohol Ordinance. Mayor Glenn White Wants To Limit The Number Of Off-Site Alcohol Permits To 12, Which Meets The State Average Per Town. Another Change Would Require Permitted Sites To Be At Least 400 Feet From From Schools Or Churches, Which Is Twice The Current Requirement. If Passed, This Would Not Impact Restaurants And Existing Off-Site Permit Holders, Would Be Grandfathered In. The Changes Are Expected To Be Presented For Consideration At The February 13Th Bma Meeting At 5:30 Pm.
