An Error In Calculation By The Virginia Department Of Education Is Resulting In Bristol, Virginia City Schools Getting A Cut In Funding Not Expected From The State. It Totaled 500-Thousand Dollars For The School System Between The Remainder Of This Year And All Of Next Year. It Resulted In 201-Million Dollars In Cut Funding For All Local School Systems Across The Commonwealth. The Calculation Error Failed To Protect The School Systems From Reduced Sales Taxes On Groceries, Which Is Part Of A Tax Package Pushed For By Now Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin And His Predecessor, Democratic Governor Ralph Northam.
