Efforts To Keep The Main Street Post Office In Johnson City Open So Far Have Proven Unsuccessful, But City Officials Haven’t Yet Thrown In The Towel. The Federal Postal Service So Far Has Been Unwilling To Negotiate A New Lease On The Property And The Current Agreement Expires At The End Of August. City Leaders Want To Negotiate Their Own Lease, Rather Than One Made By The Postal Service. Assistant City Manager Randy Trivette Said If An Agreement Can’t Be Reached, The City Will Have To Look At Other Options.
