Anthony Gibson
A CHANGE OF VENUE HAS BEEN GRANTED FOR A FLORIDA MAN ACCUSED OF FATALLY STABBING ANOTHER MAN LAST MARCH. A JUDGE GRANTED THE REQUEST BY 42 YEAR OLD ANTHONY GIBSON TO MOVE THE TRIAL’S LOCATION TO RUSSELL COUNTY FROM DICKENSON COUNTY IN MID-APRIL. GIBSON IS ACCUSED OF KILLING CLINTWOOD RESIDENT DERON RAY STANLEY. THE JUDGE GRANTED THE MOTION BY GIBSON’S ATTORNEY BECAUSE OF PUBLICITY SURROUNDING HIS FIRST DEGREE MURDER TRIAL. GIBSON’S FIRST TRIAL ENDED IN A MISTRIAL. STANLEY’S TWO CHILDREN HAVE IDENTIFIED GIBSON AS THE MAN THEY SAW KILL THEIR FATHER. PROSECUTORS CONTEND THAT GIBSON KILLED STANLEY BECAUSE HE THOUGHT HE WAS A POLICE INFORMANT WHO WAS CHEATING HIM OUT OF DRUG PROFITS. HOWEVER, GIBSON CLAIMS HE NEVER MET STANLEY. GIBSON’S NEW TRIAL GETS UNDERWAY ON APRIL 14TH IN LEBANON.
