Representatives With The Newly Formed Appalachian Producers Cooperative Have Presented Plans To Sullivan County Leaders For Partial Investment In A 10-Million Dollar Regional Meat Processing Plant To Be Located In Washington County Tennessee. The Need For Such A Facility Was Highlighted By A Feasibility Study Conducted By The University Of Tennessee. This Will Provide More Resources To Local Farmers. The New Facility Would Create 26 New Jobs And Would Be Able To Process 125 Head Of Cattle Per Week. The Startup Cost Will Be Just Over $6 Million.
