The Tennessee Department Of Children Services Has Received A Critical Audit From The State Comptroller’s Office. The Report Shows Dcs Should Re-Evaluate Strategic Planning To Address The Root Cause Of Systemic Issues That Have Plagued The Entity For Years. The Report Says The Service Has A Failing Case Management System, Has High Turnover, And Is Currently Short About 400 Case Managers From What Is Needed. Greeneville General Sessions Court Judge Kenneth Bailey And State Representative David Hawk Have Both Said The State Has Scaled Back Or Shut Down Facilities And There’S No Where For Kids To Go. Hawk Hopes The State Can Streamline The Process By Becoming A Foster Parent Without Making Too Many Sacrifices On Background Checks And Oversights.
