The Carter County Budget Committee Has Voted To Recommend A $5 Per Hour Pay Raise For Both Sheriff’s Deputies And Corrections Officers. Budget Committee Chair Aaron Frazier Said Deputies Starting Off At The Sheriff’s Office Make $13.50 An Hour. Surrounding Counties Pay Between 18 And 22 Dollars An Hour. The Increase Is Expected To Cost The County Around $1.5 Million Annually. If Approved By The County Commission, The Pay Raise Would Go Into Effect The Day After Thanksgiving.
