According To Bristol Virginia City Manager Randy Eads, Costs To Resolve The City’s Landfill Issues Could Exceed 40-Million Dollars. The City Has Roughly 8-Million Dollars In Federal Covid Relief Funds Which Can Be Spent On The Work And 2-Million Dollars Will Be Coming From The Virginia Department Of Environmental Quality. Eads Said The City Will Likely Have To Dip Into Its Unassigned Fund Balance To Help Cover Some Of The Expense. A Pilot Sidewall Odor Mitigation Project Is Expected To Be Completed By December 31St. The Facility Is Continuing To Be Operated By A Skeleton Crew Of 12 Employees With Supplemental Help From Public Works Employees.
