The Tennessee State Building Commission Has Approved A Lease Of The Former Northeast Correctional Complex In Carter County. The Facility Is Set To Become The Northeast Tennessee Regional Recovery Center. According To State Representative Tim Hicks, The Necessary Contracts Are Expected To Be Signed By The End Of This Week. The Center Is Being Funded By Baby Doe Settlement Funds Provided To Multiple Local Municipalities. The Facility Will Be A Joint Venture Between Those Counties And Cities Providing The Funding. The Center Is Expected To Be Open By March With 45 Beds With Plans To Eventually Grow To 185 Beds.
