The Carter County Commission’s Budget Committee Has Recommended A Pay Raise For Sheriff’s Employees. The Proposal Calls For A $5 Dollar An Hour Increase For All Patrol And Corrections Officers. This Would Be A Total Of 133 Employees. Newly Elected Sheriff Mike Fraley Requested The Increase As A Way To Help Retain And Attract New Workers And As A Way To Keep The Jail’s State Certification. Funding Is Expected To Come From Local And Federal Sources. The Full Commission Will Decide On The Recommendation At Next Week’s Meeting.
