The Carter County Jail Is In Jeopardy Of Being Decertified. Inspectors From The Tennessee Corrections Institute Reinspected The Facility On Friday And Certification Will Be Determined In December When The Board Of Control Meets. The Primary Concern Expressed During The Inspection Was The Low Number Of Employees At The Jail. The Sheriff’s Office Is 51 Employees Short. A Civil Service Test Will Be Offered Tomorrow At 6 Pm At Tcat-Elizabethton To Reportedly Provide A Pool Of Potential Employees. Applications Will Be Available At The Test For Anyone Interested In A Job At The Sheriff’s Office.
