A Carter County Man Is Facing Attempted Second Degree Murder Charges After Police Found A Woman Shot And Stabbed. Carter County Sheriff’s Officers Responded To A Call In The 1400 Block Of Blue Springs Road Wednesday Night, Upon Arriving They Discovered A Woman Sitting In The Home With A Large Amount Of Blood On Her. The Woman Told Officer The Assailant Was 40 Year Old Lanny Markland. Markland Is Being Held In The Carter County Jail.
