The Johnson City Historic Zoning Commission Has Approved Plans For The City To Renovate The Ashe Street Courthouse. The Facility Was Built In 1910 And Was Most Recently The Former County 911 Center Until 2017. It Has Been Vacant Ever Since. Plans To Fix Up The Building Include Demolishing A 16-Hundred Square Foot Addition And Creating A New Pedestrian-Friendly Entrance. The Renovations Will Be Funded Through A 5-Million Dollar State Grant. A Timeline For The Project Has Not Yet Been Determined.
