Bristol Virginia City Leaders Have Passed On First Reading An Ordinance That Would Ban Camping On Public Sidewalks And Rights-Of-Way. The Exceptions Are A Medical Emergency, Watching A Parade, Attending A Festival, Or Sitting While Waiting At A Bus Stop. This Comes On The Heel Of A Tennessee Law That Went Into Effect That Makes It A Felony To Camp On Public Property. The Ordinance Will Address The Homeless Problem In The City. The Second And Final Reading For The Ordinance Is Expected To Take Place At The Next City Council Meeting In Two Weeks.
