The Virginia State Corporation Commission Has Approved A Rate Hike For Appalachian Power Customers In The Commonwealth As Part Of A Plan For The Utility To Tap Into Renewable Energy, Such As Wind And Solar Power. The Increase Will Result In An Additional $2.37 Per Household And Will Cost Appco Roughly 32-Million Dollars In The Upcoming Year. This Is Part Of The Virginia Clean Economy Act That Allows The Commonwealth To Be Carbon-Free By 2050.
