The Hawkins County Commission’s Budget Committee Has Given A Thumbs Up To Contributing $400,000 Of Its Baby Doe Settlement Money For The New Northeast Tennessee Regional Recovery Center. Judge Stacey Street Along With Several Other Judges Met With The Committee Recently. Street Said Several Cities And Counties Have Already Pledged Part Of Their Baby Doe Money To The Facility, Including Carter And Hamblen Counties And Elizabethton. Hawkins County Received 1.6 Million From The Lawsuit. The Decision To Contribute The Funding Will Go Before The Full Commission At Its July 25Th Meeting.
