Five East Tennessee Judges Who Proposed A Plan For A Jointly Operated Drug Recovery Center In Upper East Tennessee Are Asking Hawkins County Leaders For Their Baby Doe Money For The Project. The Judges Have Come Before This County Commission And Other Municipalities, Seeking Funding For A Proposed Facility At The Former Work-Release Prison In Roan Mountain. A Cost Study Found Just Under 3-Million Dollars Is Needed To Start The Facility And It Will Cost Over A Million Dollars Per Year To Keep It Operating. Hawkins County Leaders Voted To Send The Proposal To The Budget Committee To Determine How Much Money Can Be Contributed.
