The Kingsport Metro Transportation Planning Organization Has Voted To Allocate Just Over 13-Million Dollars For A 17-Million Dollar Rebuild And Streetscape Project For The Downtown Portion Of Main Street. The City Is Matching The Remaining Funding. Plans Include Revamping Of Intersections, More Parking, Decorative Finishes And Newly Planted Trees. The Work Is Expected To Take Two Years And Will Stretch From Clay To Sullivan Streets. City Leaders Have Approved The Project On First Reading And Are Expected To Vote Today On Second Reading.
