A COUPLE WHO ATTEMPTED TO SAVE A PET PIG FROM A HOUSE FIRE IN SULLIVAN COUNTY HAVE NAMED THE COUNTY AND THREE OF ITS LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS IN A MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR LAWSUIT. TIM WHITE FILED THE 4.7 MILLION DOLLAR SUIT FRIDAY. THE INCIDENT ALLEGEDLY OCCURRED ON CHRISTMAS EVEN OF LAST YEAR. WHITE AND HIS WIFE PENNY, WERE TRYING TO RESCUE A RELATIVE’S PIG FROM A BLOUNTVILLE HOUSE FIRE. ACCORDING TO A POLICE REPORT, WHEN THE DEPUTY ATTEMPTED TO ESCORT PENNY WHITE FROM THE SCENE, SHE PUSHED HIM, AND WHEN AN OFFICER TRIED TO ARREST HER, TIM WHITE GRABBED HIM BY THE JACKED AND CONTINUED TO STRUGGLE. WHITE ARGUED HE AND HIS WIFE WERE WRONGLY JAILED ON CHRISTMAS EVE WHEN THEY SHOULD’VE BEEN ISSUED A CITATION AND SENT HOME.
