AFTER A RABID RACCOON ATTACKED TWO DOGS OUTSIDE THE KINGSPORT CITY LIMITS, SULLIVAN COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH OFFICIALS ARE ADVISING ALL PET OWNERS TO HAVE THEIR ANIMALS VACCINATED FOR RABIES. THE RACCOON WANDERED INTO AREAS WHERE THE DOGS WERE TIED UP AND MAULED ONE OF THE ANIMALS AND BIT ANOTHER ONE. BOTH DOGS HAD TO BE EUTHANIZED. TENNESSEE LAW REQUIRES ALL DOGS AND CATS TO BE VACCINATED FOR RABIES ADN THEIR SHOTS TO BE KEPT UP TO DATE. RABIES IS A VIRAL DISEASE THAT CAN AFFECT A MAMMAL’S CENTRAL NERVOUS SYTEM, AND EVENTUALLY DEATH.
