A JOHNSON CITY POLICE OFFICER HAS BEEN TREATED AND RELEASED FROM JOHNSON CITY MEDICAL CENTER AFTER BEING STRUCK BY A MOTORIST. 25 YEAR OLD OFFICER ALEX PERRY WAS ASSISTING THE MOTORIST WHOSE VEHICLE RAN OUT OF GAS WHEN THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED. PERRY WAS HELPING THE DRIVER PUSH AN SUV FROM THE INTERSECTION OF LEGION STREET, KING SPRINGS ROAD, AND MILLIGAN HIGHWAY SO IT COULD ROLL DOWN THE HILL TO A GAS STATION. 72 YEAR OLD ELIZABETH WHITEHEAD MILLER WAS APPARENTLY AWARE THAT PERRY WAS STANDING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. PERRY WENT OVER THE HOOD OF MILLER’S GMC AND FELL ONTO THE ROAD. MILLER’S BEEN CHARGED WITH FAILURE TO SHOW PROOF OF FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY.
