POLICE HAVE RELEASED THE NAME OF THE PEDESTRIAN KILLED ON THURSDAY IN JOHNSON CITY. ACCORDING TO JOHNSON CITY AUTHORITIES, 27 YEAR OLD DAVID HUDSON OF PINEY FLATS DIED AFTER BEING STRUCK ON EAST STATE OF FRANKLIN ROAD. THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE THAT STRUCK HUDSON WAS 57 YEAR OLD DAVID WILCOX OF JONESBORO. WITNESSES SAID THE WILCOX VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED AND TOOK NO EVASIVE ACTION TO AVOID THE COLLISION. WILCOX REPORTEDLY FAILED SOBRIETY TESTS. HE WAS ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH VEHICLULAR HOMICIDE BY INTOXICATION. WILCOX IS JAILED AT THE WASHINGTON COUNTY DETENTION CENTER ON BOND OF 100-THOUSAND DOLLARS. HE IS SLATED TO APPEAR IN GENERAL SESSIONS COURT. POLICE SAY OTHER CHARGES ARE PENDING AGAINST WILCOX.
